Originally started as Klamath County Tobacco & Candy Inc. in 1980 by Richard & Dean Mauro, their son Rick, opened Rick's Smoke Shop in the summer of 1991 on 11th Street in downtown Klamath Falls, Oregon. A few years later, they opened Rick's Smoke Shop #2 in the previous Klamath Tobacco building at 2209 Madison Street. In 2008 after Klamath Tobacco was sold to a competitor, they opened Rick's Smoke Shop #3 in the previous Klamath Tobacco building at 3009 Maywood Drive.
